Preparation

Backing material must be at least 6 inches wider and longer than quilt, to insure quality of quilting.

Quilt top, backing and batting should all be separate. Batting is available at the studio. If your quilt top fabrics have been laundered, make sure you do the same for the backing.

Quilt must be pressed and all threads cut – by trimming threads and “dog ears” while you piece your quilt this eliminates wasted time trimming later.

Quilting patterns - With hundreds of quilting patterns and access to many other possibilities, there is a quilting design just right for your quilt. You can choose from a simple meander, floral, leaf, or geometric pantograph; borders for every style; and many block designs to choose from – simple to ornate. SBQ’s library of quilting designs is updated monthly with new designs, from many designers online with endless choices. Because these designs can be downloaded immediately it does not add any “time” to the process. We can find the perfect quilting design for your beautiful quilt.

Measurement - Prices are based on a per square yard basis. To obtain the total square yards, measure your quilt top in inches. Multiply the width by the length in inches. Next, divide that total by 1296. This will give you the square yards in your quilt.
